Let's get this right....
I am not a pessimistic observer of The New York Knicks. I watch them and believe they will win any team they hoop again. But, reality kicks in when the ball is put in the air. Draft day is closer and Blake Griffin will be a Clipper and Mike Dunleavy has himself the Elton Brand player he lost. The La Clippers, will have a nice squad in '09 and I think Baron Davis has another piece. They won't be a lottery pick again, and might win a playoff spot. On a side not, I wonder if the NBA will ever play to a .500 league winning percentage. Teams like Memphis, Minnesota, Oklamhoma, Sacremento, and even New York have fired their coaches because owners were tired of the losing. They vow to the fans to try and make the playoffs, and put good product on the hardwood. I wonder if the league strides to build teams like Orlando, Lakers, Cleveland, Boston, as it stands 16teams make the playoffs, and the other 14 that don't make it are put in the Draft, but these teams are trying to become playoff teams themselves, or they wouldn't fire the coaches. But, back to The Knicks. Curry (Stephen Curry that is) thinks the Knicks are a good fit for his style of play. AP reports that he a great passer, and Larry Brown idea that he's better than a top 12 player. (The Bobcats pick at 12) They almost made the playoffs, and were more relevant than The Knicks going down the stretch, but Larry Brown also coached Trevor Ariza, and allowed Isiah to bring in Steve Francis. His last real minutes were as a Knick. I think Steve Francis does not have a Hall of Fame legacy, but be best known for being Rookie of the Year. I hope that OKC goes and grab him. They need a smart player to get the ball to Durant, and Jeff Green. But, i guess that sounds more like Rubio. He can pas the alley-op, he can get flags to the arena, and that means tickets are being sold. When Fernandez was at the Garden, flags were a plenty. I can't hope that he get a Knick jersey, but Tyreke Evans, i can. The dude will not have anyone in his ear, and playing in Minnesota might be a possibilty. Blake is gone at one, and Memphis wants their own three headed monster. Right now, OJ and Rudy average 18 ppg a piece. If they add a big man, they get their offense started quicker, and although these guys are young, they are going to need offensive help also. The Kings are on the clock and they would trade for n8, they go Rubio. OKC, please grab Curry at three. And, although i think Lebron, really like Curry, and i want every possible thing lined up to bring Lebron to NY, but i think he also is a willing passer. My real thought is though, is there any possibility that the Rookie of the Year is a 4year player from college. I'm just saying, there are a bunch of them sprinkled in this Draft, and this will be a good draft class, The Knicks need more picks, especially without one next year, but we stayed focused on the task at hand. They need more picks, and they don't need Curry. He can be a better Daniel Gibson, but any more consistent than Reddick? I want a guy that can play 40mins right out the gate. I want a guy that will be able to get to the free throw line, play defense. We need ballers. Curry is not the one. I think Terrence WIlliams can be a better player, and can challenge a Courtney Lee type. Who's he gonna guard? CP3, team we see once or twice a year. How about Derrick Rose, and D-Wade? How about Rondo even. Come on Knicks, we need u to do the right thing, and get this right. We don't have a shooter after n8, but he's the scorer we replace N8 with. Let Harrington and Lee and Gallo and Chandler to be the most consistent. Notice i forgot Hughes. He reminds me of Steve Francis. Hoping he can play all-star defense this year, and we move Jared Jefferies. I'd like to see a Tyreke Evans or Jordan Hill.
