Thursday's Draft '09

I am well aware of the crap shoot that the NBA Draft can be. Especially, when you consider that the best talent may be deeper in the middle to late rounds, than in the top 5. I think I'll go out on the limb and say that the next rookie of the year, might be a Courtney Lee type of player. A polished player coming out of college, the type of player that contributes yo wins. Blake Griffin is a quality player, and put up great numbers at Oklahoma, but he is not Micheal Beasley. So, i don't expect Beasley's numbers from Griffin, and his numbers weren't that great. (13ppg/5.3rebs 47%FG) We don't have the Derrick Rose scenario, a proven floor general that can get his own shoot when ever he needed to.(16,3ppg 6.8ast, 47%FG)  I can see Sam Young going to a team that competes and get 6th man minutes, eventhough he isn't a great shooter. Terrence Willams to the Bobcats can be a positive look, maybe replacing Raja Bell or practicing against him. Johnny Flynn, Tyler Hansboro, players like that can be a ROY candidate.  OKC really needs to pull the switch on Durant for the number 1, draft Blake Griffin and work from there. But, Sam Presti is smart and he'll do things right. Rubio is a toss up, but i don't think he passes Sacramento. But, there will be trades a plenty on Thursday, and i cant wait. Where will Allen Iverson land? I cant imagine hime deciding to retire just yet. Read my blog!!!!
