I was talking before about the Curse of the Basketball Gods when it comes to the New York Knicks piss-poor performance over the last eight seasons, but this season is shaping up to be sheer insanity -- which as we know is defined as doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting different results. I guess wins against the Nets is good for the cross-town rivalry, but other than that? I wonder if dumping Larry Brown was a smart move on the Dolans' part? He wasn't given a chance and his squad was horrendous -- even worse than what they have now. Sure he tallied up the franchise's worst record EVER, but he's a quality coach who would have had something to prove the following season. I mean were the clashes with perennial cancer Stephon Marberry that much of an issue to can the coach instead of the venom-spreading Starberry?
Truth be told about Stephon EVERY TEAM and I do mean every team he has ever played on has rebounded to great success after serving him up on the silver plate trading block -- Timberwolves, Suns, Nets -- all have turned it around after getting rid of old boy. I have to spectulate that the Bigwigs at Madison Square Garden will keep him around until the end of next season -- when the 10 year curse comes to an end -- and then buyout his contract or dish him off to some godforesaken team like the Grizzlies or the SuperSonics.
I believe in the contract buyout, because you might not be able to get any kind of trade yardage with Stephon's tainted self... one has to think long term when suffering from a sports curse. And Stephon's actions on and off the court (my condolences for losing his father, my utter disgust for the sexual harassment lawsuit that HE'LL be facing -- uh, what's up with MSG personnel and sexual harassment claims? Can't Zeke and Starberry get the doses of side nooky from the groupies that hang around the locker rooms? Guess not.)
