Start with the basic premise that 300 is one of the alltime classic films. There is no argument on this matter.

Another given is that the SB is huge event, that produces a definite winner and a definite loser. Ok, enough with the clumsy segues, lets get to the point.

The Giants are the valiant underdogs, upsetting teams 3 weeks in a row despite heavy odds in favor of the opponent.  Just like King Leonidas and his crew took out the first waves of attackers, with relatively few ( injury free playoff run) casualties for the Spartans, while the Persians ( Brady BOOT ankle injury )  suffered. The Immortals were no match for the Spartans either, as many perished under the wall of death ( giant front 4) the soldiers created to funnel enemies in to the hot gates. But eventually the sheer magnitude of the Persian force ( Moss brady welker maroney stallworth) overwhelmed, their arrows did in fact blot out the sun and and the last of the brave 300 was dead.

In New York City right now there is general sports euphoria, what with the Giants on their way to a sure big time Super Bowl  defeat in Arizona. Forgotten as a big time franchise, the New York Knickerbockers are still playing National Basketball Association games. Unfortunately, no one cares about the Knicks in New York. The team that was the hottest ticket in the country in the mid 90's is playing to empty seats and GM / Coach Isiah Thomas has driven this team into salary cap oblivion and more shockingly, general apathy and disinterest from fans.

Tonight the Knicks take on the world's #1 basketball virtuoso, Laker forward Kobe Bryant. Hey folks you better recognize that when Kobe steps on the hardwood every night he is your best chance to get a feel for what MJ , His Airness, looked like in his late 80's early 90's prime. #24 is an assassin, this guy constantly hits 3 pt. backbreakers and his ability to finish at the orange ring is immense. All young NBA guys should also take note that he plays hard every night, which, after you lay out $125 for a ticket, is the least you could hope for at a NBA game.
