That putback dunk by Kevin Garnet said it all. This game was very competitive. Celts win 98-88. I like watching it and I wouldne mind seeing it again but with a little more Kobe. I dont know what happened to Kobe but I did notice Paul Pierce was giving him a lot of trouble along with James Posey. Sam Cassel was being saved for the NBA Finals, he was quite trigger happy tonight. Keving Garnet brought it tonight. So did Rajon Rondo and Derek Fisher. Ray Allen was also big tonight. Sasha Vujacic was a pest to Ray Allen, it was really funny watching Vajacic chase him around. It wasnt even close in the end. The Celtics fans energy shutdown the Lakers and they couldn't buy a basket. I doubt anyone expected a 10 point win. Maybe some NBA fans will change their predictions after this game. I have
Continue reading "Boston Celtics Take Game 1"

Pierce went down with a right knee sprain curtesy of teammate Kendrick Perkins in the third quarter of game 1 of the NBA Finals. He was out of the game briefly, but came jogging back into the arena to receive a standing ovation from Celtic fans. I swear some chill went through me. Hopefully, the Celtics are inspired to dispose of the Lakers tonight.
Continue reading "Paul Pierce Sprains Right Knee"

Lakers are looking good. Celtics are just alright. I feel like the Celtics can play a lot harder than they actually have been. We will see in the second half. Let me talk about Derek Fisher. This guy has been so active, he really needs to be contained or the Celtics might be in trouble. Foul trouble is hurting Paul Pierce. KG is looking great on offense. I expect these two powerhouses to clamp down in the second half. It going to get crazy out there.
Continue reading "NBA Finals - Halftime"

The two most successful teams in NBA History will be going at it in the NBA Finals tonight. The Celtics already own 16 championships while the Lakers are sitting at 13 championships. Each team will be looking to become one game closer to another ring. This will be the most exciting NBA Finals that we have witnessed in recent years. I like to call this years NBA Finals “Star-Studded”:

Point Guard (Derek Fisher vs. Rajon Rondo) Derek Fisher has been through it all with the Lakers. He already has 3 rings under his belt and he’s been in these NBA Finals before. He is also still pretty good defensively. On the other hand, Rajon Rondo has been running Boston Celtics the whole season and through the playoffs. He knows he will have to use his speed to his advantage. He will be getting into transition and slashing to the hole all day. He will have no problem keeping up with the not so fast Derek Fisher. However, Fisher’s experience will overcome.

Continue reading "Lakers vs Celtics Matchups"

The Detroit Pistons are now on their search for a new coach. Flip Saunders was released today.

“Decisions like this are difficult to make, especially with the success we have had throughout the last three regular seasons,” Dumars said in a statement. “However, at this time, I feel it is necessary to make a change. “I thank Flip for his hard work and dedication, but it is time for a new voice to lead our team.” - Joe Dumars

I figured this would happen because Saunders helped them to the Eastern Conference Final each of the last three seasons. However he was unsuccessful in winning each time. I still think he should be given to chance to finish off the last year on his contract. I mean, unless they plan of bringing in a load of new faces, just keep Saunder one more year.

Paul Pierce v. Kobe Bryant. Period. These two will be lighting up the scoreboard the whole series. Expect to see a couple of 40 point games. However this series is not just about the scorers. It will be about "Team". The Celtics as a team are great especially defensively. They will need to stop Kobe and it will be a team effort. That team effort will also be put toward trying to control the Lakers bench. The Lakers are also great as a team and their offensive is near unstoppable when they are jelling. You must expect the better team to win. The Celtics need production from their whole supporting cast. Its pretty much a given that their big 3 will be producing. Hopefuly Ray Allen will be a different man in this series because he disappeared agains the Pistons. From what I have seen in the past, when Kobe is on the other team Ray Allen brings his best. I feel like all the Lakers need is big play from Lamar Odom to win this series. It seems to me that the Lakers go as Odom goes. Look for him and Gasol to be working Kevin Garnet like a slave. Look out for my preview on Wednesday, I will be going in detail on what each team needs to do to win.

Continue reading "NBA Finals - Boston Celtics vs Los Angeles Lakers"

We currently own the #6 Pick in the NBA Draft this June. I would have love for us to get a chance to grab Derrick Rose, but thats out of the picture. However, I'm thinking we need a point guard that will be running our team. Unless Donnie Walsh will be trading for T.J. Ford or Kirk Hinrich, I think we should be looking to get O.J. Mayo or D.J. Augustin. I feel they are more than capable of running the show in NYC. If we can not get anyone of these players, I think drafting the best player available isn't going to do much to help us. Walsh has already stated what he's trying to do with the pick

"We're going to look at every option," Walsh said in a state-of-the-Knicks Address at Disney's Wide World of Sports. "Trade it outright for a very good NBA player. Trade back for multiple picks. Trade up. There's a lot of different things you do. You explore everything."

Continue reading "6 Pick in NBA Draft"

I see that Donnie Walsh is showing that he wont be playing any games with the Knicks. He is showing that he is strictly behind Mike D' Antoni. If any Knicks player want to get out of line, expect to hear from "The Boss" Donnie Walsh.

"I know one thing. Mike's not going to be the problem," Walsh said edgily. "Let's put it that way. If that's what you want me to say, I just said it."

I Love it!! Let me say that one more time. I Love it!!. This is exactly what we need. Hopefully, this works out well for the team. I'm looking forward to see what happens because I know Stephon Marbury likes to clash with his coach.

Continue reading "Walsh on DAntonis Side"

Considering I'm from New York City and being a big Knicks fan, ofcourse my first entry will be about the Knicks. To begin, for some reason I'm looking forward to the 2008-2009 Knicks season. Why you ask. Its because it is the end of Isiah Thomas. That man made me want to die when watching the Knicks play. They were a horrible to team with some good players that just couldn't play as a team. Anyway, enough of the past, Donnie Walsh is here and I feel like he may be our savior. He has already wooed former Phoenix Suns Mike D' Antoni to come coach our team. This pretty much guarantees that we will see some exciting basketball next season. Im sure my fellow Knicks fans are hyped about our new coach. Changes have to be made to the roster though. We will be looking forward to this summer as Mr.
Continue reading "State of the Knicks"
