What can the Knicks do to win a World Championship and bring back the glory days to the Garden?

Wouldn't all New York fans like the 1970 Knicks back? No doubt, any Knicks fan wouldn't mind a 21st Century championship win, but what do the Knicks have to do to prove themselves and get back to their winning ways? Lets analyze 3 very important steps coach Mike D' Antoni and Donnie Walsh are going to have to make.

1.) Don't get rid of Stephon Marbury. One of the most talented and veristile players on this Knicks roster aside from Nate Robinson and Jamal Crawford. All he needs is some time off. Give him a week or two off. Give him time to rehabilitate himself, and get his act together. Maybe have him spend some time with retired legendary knicks players or some retired coaches that have played the game. This will help him to realize the importance of the game again, and not just have him worrying about his contract all the time. Maybe some of these elder more experienced players can help him to lead this fading New York Knicks team and bring back the legacy of the mighty New York Knicks franchise.

2.) Improve the Bench. In the NBA, bench players are extremely important. Any team would kill for their bench to come of big in any game. The Boston Celtics are a perfect example. In last seasons NBA finals between the Lakers and Celtics the Celtics were down and their stars tired. They needed the Bench to come of big. In game 4 of the finals the Celtics down 24 points came back and won it. And in game 7, Leone Powe hit up his game. The same is true of any other team. Another example is the Lakers. They have a great bench. Jordan Farmar is having a great season also. As for the Knicks, their bench isn't all that dynamic. They need to step it up a bit. The Knicks hired D' Antoni, but thats not enough.

3.) What use is a good coach, if the payers dont play well? I suggest that they make some trades here and there and maybe start looking up some free agents and maybe even call up some players from their D- League teams. The players need to start putting more effort into things and work on winning some games and make their way to the playoffs. And who knows maybe we might get past the Boston Celtics and make it to the Finals. Chemistry is extremely important, and so far the knicks have non.

Its all up to them!!

  2. This is so true. they shouldn't get rid of stephon marbury. they should just try to help him out.

  3. I agree. Bench play is really important. Marbury is a really talented player, and takes the ball to the rim. It might be a long time till they fix the problems though
