Want $25 Million? Manny Ramirez Doesn't

Manny Ramirez turned down the Dodgers 1 year-$25 million contract today. $25 million would have made Manny the second highest player this year. Can you guess who would be the highest? Maybe the third baseman for the New York Yankees?

Turning down a $25 million deal is just absurd. For one, it's not like Manny has any other numbers out there, and at a one year deal, Manny could have definitely shopped that around for a bigger number. Countless number of teams would definitely be interested in Manny for just one year. Teams are certaintly balking at giving Manny two years.

Perhaps Manny is trying to follow in the path of former NBA player Latrell Sprewell, who turned down a lucrative contract from the Timberwolves. For your information, Sprewell has been out of the NBA.

Manny should just take the one year deal and spend the 2009 season complaining and refusing to play.
