Sport betting has become a huge favorite in the United States, and gambling on NCAA College Basketball is second only to the Super Bowl. Most people prefer to join their office pool and fill a bracket, as that is the most convenient way of betting. You do not have to be an ardent basketball fan or even be an expert to know the odds, as there are many resources available online that can help you increase your chances of winning. Here are few simple tips you can follow, to be a winner.

Start with Background Information

If you are not a fan of basketball, or do not follow the statistical side of the game, it is time you started gathering some background information. First know about the March Madness 2013 schedule, which will give you an idea about where the games are being played and who is hosting them. Ignorance is never an advantage, so develop some knowledge about the game, by gathering information about players, and knowing which coaches are having a good track record.

The NBA draft is this week, and beneath Ive got my mock draft for lottery teams, as effectively as some items to think about if your team drafts in the lottery. The Hornets snagged the very first pick, and you could bet your life that they have only one solution at number one. Next year should be a great year for betting on the NBA so don't foget to check out your favorite  sports betting sites.
New Orleans Hornets Anthony Davis
This one is simple. Anthony Davis has been compared to Kevin Garnett and Marcus Camby. Some take into account him a combination of the two. Its one of the biggest no brainers in the draft in the last several years. There is no debate. Davis will be essential in New Orleans for years to come.
Charlotte Bobcats Thomas Robinson
Earlier in the season, most believed that Davis former UK teammate Michael Kidd-Gilchrist would be the consensus number two pick. Even so, after some combine work and a closer appear at what the Bobcats demands, Thomas Robinson has been placed in this spot by most, and he gets my nod as effectively. Robinsons upside is greater than MKGs, and the Bobcats are desperate for some energy on defense. Robinson is coming into a excellent spot for him to develop, and he can replace the black hole that is Tyrus Thomas.

Most basketball hoops let you to adjust the height of your rim from 7 as well as a half for the regulation height of 10 feet. On specific greater end basketball objectives, they may possibly be able to modify even decrease. However the method by which these systems modify can differ extensively.

Adjustment methods fall in two key categories: individuals that allow for six-inch increments and people that allow for “infinite” increments. A basketball rim that adjusts in six-inch increments can adjust at six points in involving 7 as well as a half and a 10 feet: 7.five, 8, 8.five, 9, 9.five and ten feet. With systems which might be infinitely adjustable, you happen to be in a position for making extremely tiny adjustments, like and inch or much less in case you so wish, which means you can set it at any point in between the minimum and maximum height.

Two cities that produce NBA Eastern Conference contenders also have the two teams that are favored to win the Super Bowl as the NFL playoffs are set to begin this weekend.

NBA spread betting experts might recognize that Atlanta and Boston produce two East contenders and with the Falcons and Patriots, both cities have the Super Bowl XLV juggernauts as well.

Just as in the NBA’s East, Atlanta’s team is viewed with an eye of pessimism. The Falcons had a great regular season but don’t have a ton of playoff experience. They’re a young squad that is gaining it on the fly.

Meanwhile, Boston’s team - just like in the NBA – is experienced, savvy and has done it before. The Patriots are the odds-on favorites to do it all and considering they’ve won it three times this decade, why bet against them?

Basketball betting is not quite as common as betting on some other sports, but if you do your research, take your time and keep accurate records, there’s no reason you can’t be as successful at betting on basketball as betting on anything else. Here are a few tips to get you started.

Top Basketball Betting Tip: NCAA vs. NBA

Of course you are welcome to bet both college and pro basketball (including the WNBA), like placing your bets in online video poker games, you need to be aware that each type of basketball may have very different factors in play. In college basketball, every game counts, whereas pro teams can afford to drop a few games here and there and still have a great shot at the championship. There may be a much larger disparity between two competing college teams. Know the league you’re betting.

I really like the direction this team is going but I'm not so sure they can really be a contender in the East this year.  The East has gotten a lot stronger over the last few years and while I think they can make the playoffs I don't really see any chance that they can really beat The Magic, the Heat, the Celtics, of the Bulls.  And I'm skeptical they can even beat teams like the 76ers or the Hawks.

What do you think?

New York Yankees - Ondre Baronette
The Yankees lost to the Nationals tonight. That is not that glaring of a problem, because they will still be right there in September and October. The Yankees have the pieces to get the bat that their lineup seems to be missing. I know that Xavier Nady is hurt and he was supposed to be the right handed power, protecting Posada or Cano. But there might be a need to look close at Holliday. Matt that is, he could do serious damage in the new Yankees stadium. He can be the rental that pushes them over the top. Johnny Damon and Hiedki Matsui come off the books. They can resign Matt and still have a smaller payroll than they do this year. I just think that A-Rod is looking human, and without his added energy boost for the dog-days of summer these men play through. They have some young pitchers a

John Sterling has been the radio personality for the New York Yankees for the past 15-20 years. His most popular call is when the Yankees finish off an exciting victory. He says, "Ballgame over. Yankees win! Thhhhhhhheeeeeeeee Yankees Winnnnnnnnnnnnn!" But what about when a Yankee hits a home run? He's come up with a few cool ones. Which one is your favorite? To see what it looks like from the booth, check this out!

Mariano Rivera is approaching 40. Retirement could come any year now. What are the Yankees' options? How about a switch pitcher? That's right. His name is Pat Venditte and he pitches both righty and lefty. You thought it was confusing enough with switch hitting. Rick Reilly wrote an interesting article for the May 18 issue of ESPN the magazine. According to the article, currently he's still in the Yankees farm system, pitching for the Single-A Charleston Riverdogs. Venditte's parents saw that he was doing everything both right-handed & left handed, so they fed it. His hispanic teammates call him "pulpo" which means octopus. I imagine it's because of the way he switches from 1 side to the other depending on whether the batter faced is righty or lefty.

Check him out warming up for the Staten Island Yankees:
