Knicks

users, the new season is here, and if you need information from a person that has contact with the Knicks beat writer, I'm your guy. I will have news and information about The Knicks, after Newsday has it of course, both are owned by James Dolan, and Cablevision (Stock ticker (CVC), I'm covering all bases right now).

The Knicks are looking to add Jason Kidd to the mix, I hope it is smoke screens for  Sessions. Who is the second best point guard in free agent market this year? Stephon Marbury, Allen Iverson, maybe Bibby, since he reportedly re-up with the Hawks. There isn't a hard line. Its just a well researched, highly discussed opinion, of who will fit in a particular system. Mike Bibby is a tested professional in pressure situations. His Atlanta team finished a little bit shorter than his Sacramento teams did in the playoffs. He knows how to play in space and stretch the floor himself too. The Hawks are smart to keep him. Sessions is the next best option beside trading for a player. He doesn't shoot the three very well, but that could be a good thing, he'll got to the basket more frequent.  Some beat writers believe that Nate Robinson will not be back and i buy that, (dont agree) but as a commodity that he seems to be, why not sign and trade him? Teams that want him, need to pay the price he's worth. I think that David Lee has to be a more expendable player, the

They won't be able to hang on with the Nets, Knicks, Bobcats, Raptors, Pacers, and Bulls still hovering around. Someone will make a strong run in the latter 1/4 of the season, and I'm hoping it's the Nets.

Despite a tough 116-110 loss in Philadelphia tonight, the New York Knicks are playing surprisingly well under their new head coach, Mike D'Antoni. The Knicks had won three in a row prior to this evening's contest, including an impressive victory over D'Antoni's old team, the immensely-talented Phoenix Suns.

Following the trades that sent Jamal Crawford and Zach Randolph packing, for a short while, the Knicks seemed like they'd be able to survive the core-shaking changes to their roster. Al Harrington came to New York with something to prove, and he blazed through a hot streak of games about a week after joining the club.

Lately, it has been so hard to think of the New York Knicks, and think of the great teams of the past. It is hard to see the history behind such a great franchise. A franchise that has won 2 NBA championships, both in the 1969-1970 season and 1972-1973 season, and a franchise who has also made the playoffs 38 times, last time being in the 2003-2004 season, in their 62 year history . If you have only recently became a NBA fan, you are seeing a

For the first time in years, the New York Knicks look like a real NBA team.  It's amazing.  5-3.  This hasn't happened in years!  It's amazing how much difference a little change can bring.   Here's how I see it thus far:

Allan has been working out with Knicks at their training camp since day 1 and apparently D'Antoni liked what he saw. I know that many fans are skeptical, but I don't think that D'Antoni and Walsh would've picked him up if they didn't think that he could contribute to the team that they are trying to build. At his worst, Allan would bring veteran leadership and knowledge-something that the

I see that Donnie Walsh is showing that he wont be playing any games with the Knicks. He is showing that he is strictly behind Mike D' Antoni. If any Knicks player want to get out of line, expect to hear from "The Boss" Donnie Walsh.

Boston fans tease us about the Knicks and the Yankees and the Jets and we can only respond with "uhh...18-1!, huh huh!" The Super Bowl was great but you know what, I want more. I want Kyle Farnsworth to stop giving up late inning homers like he did again tonight again the Tigers. I want Cano to start hitting again. I want Henrik Lundqvist to stop giving up goals like he's Goldberg from The Mighty Ducks! I want to stop hearing stories about how Isiah Thomas is allowed only allowed to observe the players from those little TVs at the concession stands at the Garden! I want more than what we are getting now as New York fans. The number one topic on WFAN this whole week was whether or not Delgado should have given the fans at Shea a curtain call after hitting two dingers at Shea! I think when Ollie Perez gives up 7 runs in 1.2 innings against the Pirates, Mets fans may have more important things to worry about. (What is it with Pittsburgh teams this week, anyway?) And of course, there is the continuing saga of everyone's favorite Yankee hero, Roger Clemens! Things are not to good for us New York fans right now, but they will hopefully get better soon. And when they do, I'll be there to comment on it. Until then, to all my wonderful friends and family in Massachusetts..."18-1."

Unfortunately, no one cares about the Knicks in New York. The team that was the hottest ticket in the country in the mid 90's is playing to empty seats and GM / Coach Isiah Thomas has driven this team into salary cap oblivion and more shockingly, general apathy and disinterest from fans.

Isiah Thomas took out the blowtorch and put it to the feet of his entire roster and the New York Knicks -- miraculously -- responded by dishing a supreme butt-kicking to the ailing near King-less Cleveland Cavaliers. In what was the most lopsided victory the

I was talking before about the Curse of the Basketball Gods when it comes to the New  York Knicks piss-poor performance over the last eight seasons, but this season is shaping up to be sheer insanity -- which as we know is defined as doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting different results. I guess wins against the Nets is good for the cross-town rivalry, but other than that? I wonder if dumping Larry Brown was a smart move on the Dolans' part? He wasn't given a chance and his squad was horrendous -- even worse than what they have now. Sure he tallied up the franchise's worst record EVER, but he's a quality coach who would have had something to prove the following season. I mean were the clashes with perennial cancer Stephon Marberry that much of an issue to can the coach instead of the venom-spreading Starberry?

Currently, Knicks’ fans are suffering from a Sports gods’ curse and they probably don’t even know it or at least refuse to admit it. The fabled franchise’s woeful misfortunes can be traced back 8 years ago to around this time in the season – marquee player for 14 years Patrick Ewing broke his hand/wrist in a terrible fall against the Bucks. He sat out the rest of the season, and outrageously the

The Knicks settled their nasty sexual harassment lawsuit this week, and about time. What kills me is why Zeke is still at the reigns of this enfeebled franchise. He’s never made a franchise good, but maybe the Dolan’s have a twisted plan – every team Zeke has been apart of sucks rotten eggs while he’s there, but they perform a turnaround worthy of Lee Iacoca one he leaves – Raptors and Pacers come to mind. So maybe that’s what the Dolans are doing, seeing how they won’t be able to have a good team until 2010 anyway (see my other post).
